Photoshop Cinematography

Today I am going to show you how to make a cinemagraph on Photoshop. One of the programs I am going to be using is Gyazo.

First find and load a picture in to Photoshop. Then select the part of the picture you want to work on with the cropper tool and cut it out and load it into a new frame by clicking Ctrl-x then Ctrl-v.

Then load in a second copy of the same picture for the background.

Now with the eraser tool cut out the part of the moving layer you don't want to move.

Next fill in the background so that it looks just like a regular background using the fill feature on the lasso and cropper tool. make sure the fill is content aware.

Now click create frame animation and duplicate the one frame.

Next thing to do is move the second frame slightly and click the tween button. this will create frames in between. you may need to create a lot of frames to get the smooth look.

Now you need to duplicate the first frame and move the duplicated frame to the end to create a tween between the last one and it.

Next is to duplicate the next last frame after the new tween; and move the new duplicated tween slightly.(step 5 again).

You can continue steps 5-8 un-tell you are satisfied then Export and save for web as a GIF.

then add a still image to make it look more like a cinimagraph.

This is how to create a basic cinemagraph on Photoshop.

Tomorrow I am going to research how to create a cinemagraph on Flash in order to make a tutorial for it later.
