Today I investigated Godot as a possible project engine for my independent program work. this was presented to me by Mr. Bilesky who was presented it by other students.
Godot is a game creation engine. It allows you to make a game from scratch without needing any tools besides the ones used for content-creation.
The games are coded in C++ or GDScript. GDScript is their own scripting language and is quite similar to python.
Godot has a built in script editor and debugger as well as a physics engine.Godot's graphics engine supports transparency, normal mapping, specularity, dynamic shadows, fog and gamma correction.

Tomorrow I plan to possibly download the engine directly on to the computer or through steam with permission from Mr. Bilesky and begin to explore the engine first hand.
